Smile 2011- My X3 Released To A Carrier!!!!

oohk....starting to get a bit excited here..assuming BMW does not hold this vehicle until the "release" date.

Just spoke to someone at BMW.

As of 12/17-- TODAY...my car was released to a carrier--- Centurion Auto Logistics!!! (thought it was Waggoners, as they always bring cars down here??)

Wtf does this mean?!!! is it on its way to the dealer soon?...

I'll call my CA up soon to find out an update and let you know.

P.S I'm in the Atlanta area--not too far at all from the factory!

Congratz! Wow I didn't realize you were in the US. I think you are like one of the first. I have yet to see a new x3 driving around, only saw a demo model so far.

Please post pics, your highs and lows, and gas mileage you're getting with your 28i.

Enjoy!

Obviously you did not plan for delivery at the performance center in Spartanburg? I am excited for you and am awaiting mine as well.

looks like the car is on a truck now..ETA at the dealer tomorrow @10 a.m.

Hopefully this means they can deliver the car in the next few days--and not "hold" at the dealer for whatever reason.

Don't you know this is a 2011 model... you're gonna have to wait till January!

LOL, Just Kidding But let's hope they don't pull some stunt like that on ya.

I really hope you get your X3 this week, would make your Holiday's perfect I'm sure.

Looking forward to hearing your impressions of your new X3 very soon! Congratz on your new ride!

Just curious about the other time frames. My CA said that after a VIN is assigned you could begin tracking it. So, after you placed your order when were you able to track it? Were you given a VIN? Then how did things progress timewise? After you began tracking how long till finished? Hope you don't mind but I am trying to be able to get an idea about progress etc. Thanks so much and I too hope you get a great Christmas present!

Thanks.... I can tell you from my experience from ordering cars from BMW in the past---and the same this time around with the X....I've been able to track the progress pretty much from the day I put my order in--as soon as I got a production #....then obviously over time its given a production date, and it really begins then.
In the case of this car, I placed my order on 11/1. The car went into production 12/9 (Thursday) and was out of production, and released to a carrier on 12/17 (Friday). 3 days later--today, the car was assigned to a "trip/load" as they call it, and will be delivered to the dealership by "noon" tomorrow per the transport company...and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Thursday/Friday delivery... I'll keep you all posted.

Keep in mind I'm in the Atlanta area, so only about 150 miles or so from the Spartenburg factory, hence the car being here fairly quick

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for the info.

Not sure if we can track UK orders in the same way but could you let me know how soon before the production date you received your production number please?

I have a week 2 production slot but I am considerably more than 150 miles from the factory!

I recieved my production # the same day I placed the order for the car from my dealer...11/1. As soon as he entered the car into the system, I got the production #...however the car only went into production on 12/9

Thanks. I'll ask my dealer and see if I can get involved in some tracking action.
