Putting the tires before the horse...

So my car (335xi M-sport) should be ready for delivery on Christmas Eve in Richmond VA... problem is that they've been getting snow (rare) already, and I live in Brooklyn, NY so need to have the ability to drive back north pretty quickly after Christmas. So I need to get rid of the summer tires it comes with.

I want to get the Continental DWS's... so here's the question: how should I do this?

1) Ask the dealer to order and install them before I take delivery?
2) Order tires from TireRack and get them sent to local tire place?
3) Call local tire place and have them order some so they're in stock when I need them?
4) Other options?

I'm a little worried about getting too committed at this point since I haven't taken delivery yet nor do I know a certain delivery date yet.

Your best option

A) Order from Tire Rack with delivery to your house/home.
B) Make an appointment with BMW and have them install the tires.

I assume you lease your car and will save the stock RFT for the time you return the car?

I recommend BMW (they have the right tools and equipment) for installing them since if they damage your wheels they will have to fix or replace them. BMW mounted my winter tires on my new winter rims and did it all with balancing new valves and taxes for just over $80.00

Careful -- some BMW dealers will not mount non-runflats. I'd find a tire rack recommended installer in the area and take it there.
