Yes they lower the xi
They will void the OEM suspension warranty as they're not meant to be used on the xi...this is true for any suspension mod except the BMW Performance Suspension or OEM Sport Suspension available for RWD cars only

what about if you're out of warranty, will e90 sport springs/shocks work on the xi?

i'm looking for just a small drop and the e90 sport suspensions are pretty decently priced in the for-sale section.

Other members have used the sport springs, not sure how well they work.

can you recall who they might be? i'm curious as to see how much the sport suspension will lower the xi.

i don't want to go any lower than the rwd sport suspension because then the car will become useless in the michigan winters

Give me a break. They will never know. Service Techs barely remember do tighten all the bolts properly let alone check the OEM part # of sport springs to determine if they meant to be used on the xi.

If it comes down to whether BMW will pay for a costly repair, you better believe they're going to do everything to prove that it wasn't their fault/responsibility
