Shady Marketing from BMW of Bellevue

So I get a Xmas card from BMW of Bellevue giving me a free $50 gift card for use towards BMW accessories. I don't really need anything at the moment but though why not, let's have a visit.

I get there picked up some BMW mugs (my coffee mugs don't fit in the small cup holders). I go to pay and the cashier said sorry you cannot use that gift card. So I go to talk to the service manager who said it needs to be "installed" BMW accessory.

Had a quick word with him but clearly, he was not going to do the right thing. Called and left a complaint at BMWUSA. So each can be a judge, take a look at the wording they used.

"Redeem this $50 Gift Card towards any service or installed parts or Original BMW Accessories"

This is clearly an OR operation and not AND. BMW of Bellevue fail. This reminds me why I bought the car at BMW Seattle and why I continue to drive out of my way to be serviced in Seattle.

To all beware and happy holidays. I've attached the mailing in case you get one too.

Horrible stealership... Also a main reason we bought our car at BMW of Seattle. I think BMW of Bellevue is run by a bunch of incompetents.

Dude, just tell the dealer to "install" your coffee mug into your cup holders. Problem solved! Trust me, I'm a lawyer

On the install comment, I thought of that when I got home. Was kicking myself that I didn't think of that as a witty comment at the scene

I immediately delete any emails or letters from my dealer since I'm too lazy too care about anything they want me to buy.

Been exchanging communication with their GM. He insists on their definition ("AND" operation) but is willing to work something out in this case with me.

You got a $50 gift card, no reason to complain.

When I went to purchased my car and my dad, the bellevue dealership was playing the number games on the invoice price....never gave me a straight answer....I would never recommend this dealership

Anyone on the East side knows to stay away from BMW Bellevue. Their history goes way back and they are horrific, yes, horrific......I was 2 blocks from them, but I took it to BMW Seattle for an oil change.

However, I cannot give too much credit for BMW Seattle anymore. I am now in my CPO phase, and their service wasn't as good when it was within the first 4 yrs. They stop calling up to remind you about appointments, they said they will call up to follow up and never did, they stop listening to you about what needs to be looked at, and they charge you co-pay for diagnostics for repairs they can't do.

If you really want to go to a stealership, go with BMW Seattle. Avoid Bellevue at all cost, even if you live right next door.
