Smile v5 for n55 ready for testing

Hi guys,
We have n55 v5 ready to roll. But before releasing it, I'd like to get a few more testers run it for the next week.

What's new:
-persistent autotuning (no more resetting after mapswitch)
-more command center functionality (same as n54 v5)
-improved boost control algorithms (to address the tendency of the little turbo to boost creep in the higher gears).
-NA mode/Map3 (actually runs 2-4psi since the turbo is so small it builds boost even with the wastegate fully open)
-New in-dash display options (same as n54 v5).

If you'd like to try it, email me at shiv@vishnutuning.com with "N55 v5 tester" in the subject line.

Cheers,
shiv

Is there a way to force a reset of the autotune values? I say this for times when you want it to start over (think large swings in weather, gas quality etc..)

Yes, there is a way to do that in Command Center. See the Reference Guide in the first post here.

v5 has traction control, and v5 for the N55 is imminent. Therefore...

That still doesn't mean that traction control is functional or not....
V4 had "upshift softening" that didn't work for a DCT car....see were I'm going with this?

Being that TC is a major feature of v5, I can't see how the N55 version would be released without it. But that's a question for Shiv, I guess. Regarding the DCT functionality, I don't know. You only asked about the N55 in general in your previous post.

Basically, as you run up through the gears, the engine is placed under greater load, which adds extra energy to the exhaust stream and makes it easier for the turbo to produce more boost at a given WG duty cycle. If no change in the WG duty cycle occurred, boost slowly "creeps" higher as you move up through the gears. This extra energy has to be shunted around the turbine wheel, which is when the wastegate comes into play . Essentially there has to be an algorithm that notes the load of the engine (there are many ways of measuring or even deducing this) and then tweaks the WG duty cycle accordingly to keep the boost pressure from slowly rising.

For the N54, yes. The N55 will have it with v5 when released.
