After repeated reading of almost endless posts it seems that in order to get a flat EQ signal output suitable for amplification from a 'Base' BMW Professional HU it needs to be re-coded to 'Hi Fi'

From standard in a UK 'Base' stereo a tweaked EQ is present in order to make the non-amped standard speakers, fitted without tweeters sound half decent.

Has anyone managed to get theirs recoded to 'Hi Fi' yet? If so where and for how much?

Find the nearest Autologic-equipped independent BMW specialist to you. Ask them to recode from base stereo to HiFi. Takes 10 minutes, costs £50 roughly. Done
