How to drift and launch with automatic 335XI?
Just wondering if someone can give me tips. I know AWD drift, but do more of a power slide, but what's the best way? I'm new to this so :P And what's the fastest way I can launch a 335XI on automatic? I do have paddle shifters if it makes a difference. Thanks.

Drifting in the 335xi is not fun...go buy an Evo or WRX, otherwise expect to blow a front diff or the transfer case
I've done both snow and wet pavement, the 335xi just doesn't do donuts, drifting or 4 wheel burnouts very well, the AWD system isn't really performance oriented. Launch in an Auto is just brake boosting, use trial and error and be aware of the risks as it's possible to blow front diffs and do damage to your trans if you don't have the right amount of fluid in it. |

Traction off, hand brake, engage gear 1, hold rpm to 2.5k, floor it while releasing hand brake, engage gear 2...

I don't think you have enough power to break traction on solid pavement. you might be able to pull something drive on your XI on Snow or Ice covered parking lot..

Just engage launch mode. All you have to do is put shifter in DS mode, then hold both paddles pushed in, then you can let off the brake and step on the gas, dont worry itll only rev, and when youre ready to launch just let go of the shift paddles.

The whole purpose and engineering of the XDrive system is to prevent loss of traction. Sounds like it works.

Step 1: Go to dealer
Step 2: Return your car Step 3: Buy RWD car. You bought the wrong car. |

I drift all the time in the snow and ice. It was the same way in my STi, this car is just as good, if not better when drifting. Now drifting in the summer on dry pavement is not possible unless you are pushing over 400WHP.
