Need winter set up help

Hey guys, I am looking for a winter tire and wheel set up. I have an extra set of 162 style 18" staggered wheels that I would like to use, yet Les Schwab tells me they can't get a snow tire to fit the rears. They said I should get a set of 17" wheels and then my choices of tires would be much better.
Any suggestions?? I have an '06 330i.

The same tire that fits the front should fit the rears

Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero Series II. Comes in stock 255/35R18 and 225/40R18 with RFT. I just ordered a set from tirerack.com about a month ago. Went out for a short drive last night. Seemed to work fine.

Believe these are the only RFT winter tires that come in the exact oem sizing.

I put Blizzak WS70s on all four corners. They're sized 225/45 R17 on Advan A7 rims. I got the whole package from Tirerack for about $1100 shipped.

You have better traction on tires that are narrower than stock and it's best to have all four tires the same size. This setup worked fantastic getting us home from Portland the monday before Thanksgiving. We drove through a blizzard with zero or near-zero visibility and not once did the traction control light come on (driver ability and smart driving necessary as well).
