v5 beep beep on start up / shut down....

occasionally happens, what is this. asked Vishnu team multiple times, but no response. Anyone experience this. It's the same sound as shift notification, and haven't noticed until uploaded v5 maps. The car is running great with no cause for concern. happens probably 20% of the time, mostly on start up (when engine is started) and sometimes on shut down, when engine is turned off, but before removing key. VERY VERY CURIOUS.

This is a question that should be answered and added to the user maintained documentation.

I'm curious of something else that related to the way the car behaves when starting. Whst do the orange and yellow sections between the speedometer and tachometer mean?

It's a minor bug present since the shift beep was first implemented back with V4 FW. Should be fixed as it occurs on map 0 as well.

Yes I've noticed this with V5. Another wierd thing I have noticed is very occassionally when driving I'll get a beep and I see procede has shifted maps just as if I've double clicked the DTC button. Its only happened a few times, never happened before the latest version.

The Procede cannot change maps without user input. However, if revs drop below 500rpm for any reason, it will reconfirm the current map selection by displaying the map # and (if non-idrive equipped) beeping audibly. I've seen this myself when almost stalling the engine by accident. We will probably drop that rpm threshold a bit in the next update.

And for those who don't know, you can defeat DCT button mapswithing in the command center. This way, all mapswitching can be done though the cruise control stalk. We leave the DCT option on by default for those card that don't have cruise control.

Will that stop the random beeps at startup and shutdown?

Shiv is stating that they are NOT random... apparently for the beep beep you need to be below 500rpm.

According to your original post you said it happens 20% of the time. That sounds random to me. According to Shiv it's designed to beep at a 500rpm threshold. This is crossed everytime the engine is started and stopped. The beeping should be suppressed during these events but clearly sometimes it is not.

I agree, but this answers my question and no cause for concern. fixing or more clearly defining when it happens would be nice.

He defined the normal operation, not the abnormal beeping at startup and shutdown.
