Infinity BassLink II - Self powered sub
Anyone ever tried this.....i think this is an easy solution to add more bass to the coupes without taking up too much trunk space.....also if you lease its easy to remove and put into your next car

i used it in a hatch back before. Very good sub for the money, but it will look ugly in the trunk.
I doubt you will get too much base from it unless you have fold down seats as the sub isnt that powerful and the trunk is sealed well. fk |

I think 250W isn't much power. I think Infinity came up with this only few years ago, since it is an entry level product (little power) I would wait untill something more advance comes out

I bought one of these a few years ago and it didn't last long before it went up for sale on ebay. In a truck or hatchback it may work okay, but in a car trunk it just simply does not have enough power or low end punch. Especially in this pretty well insulated trunk it won't be worth it. You're better off getting a real sub and a decent amp. |

I had one in my old Acura. For what it is and the cost it's fine. You're not going to get amazing sound out of it, but you're also only spending a little money. The other thing is that it takes the signal from your stock speaker wires via vampire clips, so the install is easy, but the sound quality isn't the best. It will give a noticeable improvement to the system. I also liked that it has a remote that you can turn the bass up or down.

Do not get the basslink....Not near enough power/sound. Can barely tell a sub is there because of the seat insulation.
Get a Kicker Solobaric, it requires a small sealed box. Great deals on E-bay. Get one with box/installed already. The amp can be installed in the hidden compartment. Just need a Stinger High-to-Adapter $20. Do not buy the amp kit, you only need 3 feet of power/ground,a 1m RCA cable, and turn on wire from your choice of wires in the trunk. Will only be about $100 more and the sound will be worth 5 fold. |

Of course, you can even go smaller.
I have a great 12 sub in a smaller box, it is in the back corner of the trunk. You can barely see it. I had to add a small bracket so it would not be flung around the trunk on the curves. Box cost about $25 off ebay and was able to pick it up in LA. A sub might cost you $75. $100....sub, done. Nice amp will run $200, for a mono sub amp. Fosgate has a couple models that are nice. Stereo will sound worlds better... Install should be about $75 plus $75 in cables/accessories |

Kinda off-topic...for those of you that have a single 10" or 12" sub, I'm assuming that enough sound is passed through the nicely sealed trunk? Several years ago I got a 10" JL sub installed in a C280, and even though the sub was thumping, it was barely noticeable inside the cabin. I don't have the cold weather package on my E92, so I can't lower the arm rest. I have a 12" JL W3 (not installed yet), and I'm afraid that it's going to end up like the C280.
