New!! CSL Bootlid E90 (Project M) UPDATED!

Hey everyone,
So I stopped by Project M's warehouse to check out a new product that they had just finished.
I recently placed and an order on their CSL Trunk (vacuumed) but pulled out because I had to get another car. When I asked if they would continue with the CSL trunk, they told me that they had stopped production and felt that a bootlid would be more appropriate.
Anyways, here are some pictures of the bootlid that they just finished in Plain Weave Carbon. The bootlid overlays on the entire top part of the trunk and rolls down to the edges. Project M will be using an adhesive to mount the bootlid.
As you can see the bootlid is the exact same design as their original trunk design. I love how the bootlid gives off that one piece look. Now I won't have to have a spare part laying around. Project M hasn't decided on a price yet but they should have one soon. NICE!!

UPDATED PICS! FINISHED CARBON PIECE

It actually "looks" pretty cool, but I have a hard time believing the cost difference will deter buyers form seeking the real deal.

So you have to glue it down on your stock trunk deck? Man what if you want to take it off. I guess you are selling it and buying a stock one again.... I would rather have the spare part laying around I think.

Just me, and again it looks good, just a matter of preference is all.

Also wont the new layer on top stick up a bit?

Yea I think $250 would be a good price. Anything higher than that....it's not worth it. CF trunks are about $600 non-painted.....for like seibon, not vorsteiner.

BTW, car is sick!!! I want quads too!

is it stuck on with double side'd tape?
or betalink?

so this would be temporary or permanent.
how is it at freeway speeds?

interesting approach.

I think if it fit more like a spoiler it would be a bit better

They have CSL style spoilers.....they look like an add on which looks poser/cheap because well, it's not a real CSL bootlid.

The only thing I don't like in these pictures is where the windshield meets the trunk. It's visibly stacked on top of each other and it looks bad.

Other than that, the fitment looks good.

The CSL style spoilers don't look as good around the tail lights as this one seems to look, if the top just didn't extend all the way over the trunk maybe it would look better if they could find a more subtle way to have it attach on.

In these pictures they just put the bootlid over without even taping it down, so the edges are sticking up a bit. But when they pushed it down it actually looked really good.

That's what I thought too because most of the other bootlid stick up a massive amount. However they manage to make it barely noticable.

They told me the reason they extended all the way over the top, instead of making it like a spoiler is because they wanted to eliminate the line where the parts joined.

WOW, really this is someones hard work, money and sweat put into this and all you can say is "this is such a fail" If you have some constructive criticism maybe that can improve the product, that would be much more appreciated.

Well if you wanted to look more subtle you could always paint it. Project M said that they will not be offering it in fiberglass.

I could have gone further and explained why I thought it's such a waste but I figured that was enough...
And this is someone's hard work? Pretty sure someone just took the easy way out and instead of creating a complete trunk they just made an overlay.

How could they take the easy way out when they already made the entire trunk. If they wanted to only release the overlay that is their approach and what they felt was appropriate for their company.
