How involved and $$ is custom leather?

I am considering buying a CPO E92 that is perfect for me EXCEPT it has mechanical seats with leatherette. I think I can handle the lack of electric seats, but...I really want leather.

Has anyone converted their leatherette to leather?

Could you do just the seating surfaces? What about the door trim?

Any recommendations for custom leather shops in the US?

I thought we all had leather? My shit is leather, so should all other bmw seats.....somebody correct me if im wrong.....

Also, you would most likely spend 3k+ on new skins for a coupe......maybe about 800 for non oem shit....

custom skins can be quite pricey. you might be better off buying used seats of e46fanatics.com or, look online. i got a quote to have m3 seats redone for around 1500, just the fronts though

I contacted Top Stitch in LA. They have the patterns and can do the two front seats in matching black leather for $800. The entire package - fronts, rears, and door panels - is $2100. Seems reasonable to me.
