Got car back after HPFP Recall...I know, another thread.

Took the car in for the HPFP, Injector and Software update.

Got the car back.

1) Replaced the HPFP.
2) Replaced several injectors.
3) Reflashed software.

Car drives nice and smooth.

I also complained about my iDrive locking up a few times every now and then.

That was updated as part of all of the other software. My iDrive really flies now, it is like 3x faster than before moving around the menus, huge improvement, along with some different looking icons and colors in a few spots. Really like that.

Need to get the GIAC reflashed now though since it got over written.

Also, I asked for an oil change and was willing to pay the money, they only charged me for the oil/filter, no labor. $70 oil change, can't beat that.

Dealer did me right and the car feels "new to me" now.

They never said a word about any of my mods.

That is all.

I know....Cool Story Bro'

It is a cool story, it's always nice to see the customer getting good service at a dealership. So many stories of people getting the short end of the stick.

That's why it helps to build a good relationship with your SA.

Glad to hear your car is running great.

On a side note, I must say it seems that the HPFP problem is slowing going away. (Knocks on wood)

Obviously it isn't expected but I tip my SA $20 each time I see him.

People may think it's stupid of me but if I end up at the dealership once every 4 months (Hopefully no more!), that's $60 a year.

Well worth the investment for my SA to know he wants to keep me a happy customer especially when most of those guys probably don't make more than $15/hr.

A tip is generally a no-no, but a couple cases of soda or a pizza delivery at lunch following a successful visit may be appropriate.

The soda is cheaper and also spreads to the techs.

Took the car in for the HPFP, Injector and Software update.
1) Replaced the HPFP.
2) Replaced several injectors.
3) Reflashed software.

What are the symptoms or requirements for them to change the injectors ? I've had the HPFP replaced April 2010 and then the mandatory reprogram in Nov 2010 (it turned out I had the latest HPFP so only the reprogram was required) but I don't think they did anything with the injectors ?
Thanks.

From my recent experience, misfiring randomly on cold starts (tiny hiccups), and then major misfires when trying to accelerate heavily especially onto the freeways.

B13 14 10 (injector recall) was put out Dec 2010, and it showed up for my car only this week. It didn't come up in my two previous visits in the last month.

My guess is ask SA to scan your key or VIN and see if recall's out for your car now.
