Side mirrors -- do they power fold?

I just read through the pdf of the Owners Manual, but so no mention (or if it's there, I missed it) of power folding side mirrors.

I'd read previously in other forum posts that the side mirrors have a power-fold feature. Is this true?

For people that often park in tight spaces... you can fold in your mirrors so that you can enter tight spaces easier, and often times, people like to fold them in tight spaces so that other people don't walk into your side mirrors and break them off.

If you're trying to go through somewhere or park somewhere in a tight spot you can fold the mirrors in to help?

I would never purposely put myself in that position in the first place with this car.

[update] woops u guys beat me to it while the page was open [/update]

BTW, I believe with the E90 325, power folding mirrors is an option EVEN WITH the premium package..But you HAVE to have the premium package to get it....With the 330, it comes with the premium pack...

That's right. But at least w/o the prem pkg, the mirrors fold manually. With my E46, the mirrors didn't even fold. The above posts are correct. Troy's mirrors folded via power (he had the prem pkg), and I had to open my window, reach out, and fold it myself. It was very degrading I felt very inferior, and I told him

Ja, genau! I literally can't remember ever folding side mirrors in my life. Here in Jersey, we just call Tony and have his boys "remind" people to be more considerate in parking next to my Bimmer. Capisce?

Further forward from the window controls on the driver's door armrest.

Right next to the controls that adjust the mirrors.

I accidentally hit it the first time I drove the car trying to adjust the mirrors (which ARE a bit smaller than I'd like btw).

Thanks man! So you don't have to power close both mirrors at the same time right? You could just fold in the left one?

If you dont get the premium package is there a way to wire it up anyway? Is the power for auto fold there just not hooked up, or not?

Actually if I remember correctly (this was a week ago so maybe I don't) you could fold them individually.

maybe they did, but I didn't try hard enough. They looked like they SHOULD fold, but when I tried, with some normal force, and they didn't move, I gave up. Never had to fold them in... Anyway, I can't try folding them anymore since I don't have the car... But it's a good point. Maybe I just didn't try hard enough.

BTW, RichReg, we have a similarly equipped car :-) I think the difference is only in our color choice. GREAT choice on the options man :-)
