Pressure Washer Advice (around £100)
Hi Gents,
I'm looking at getting a pressure washer for the 3 - looking at spending around £100... does anybody have any advice on what's best for that price ?? Many thanks, Ian B |

Should be able to pick up a Nilfisk C120 for around that. I got mine before Xmas from Argos for £90 but it's gone up a bit since then.
Great machine so far, would happily recommend it. |

Nilfisk C120 will be ideal and fit rhe budget. A lot of the guys at Detailing World use them which is why I bought mine. |

you'll need one of these to get a good wide arch:

rsmallwo,
I don't understand the need for the extra nozzle, I find the "vario-lance" (varies from high to low pressure) does the job. I guess it doesn't "fan" out much but it's fine for rinsing off etc...never had an issue with mine, it's not a fine jet or anything, it's probably a 45 degree (perhaps a bit less) spread from the tip. |

rs - I nearly got one for my E140 but had similar thoughts to TN - mine does a great job. Only thing it could do better is rinsing which is a bit low volume (difference between full blast and rinse mode is pretty large) - would that device improve that?
+1 on C120 - well regarded, good warranty (you can extend it to four years for not much extra from Argos - I did with my E140), decently put together. Do it! |

For ~£100 you're not going to get industrial strength
If I pay £90 every 2-3 years it's no biggie IMO as there's no guarantee if I spend >2x the amount I'll get >2x the longevity. It's already lasted infinitely longer than the Karcher I once had |

I think PWs are pretty "disposable" items really - I have already killed two Halfords HP2800s (their top end model).
Hence getting a four year warranty - Argos are great at no questions asked replacements. |

When using the "auto nozzle" you get an 80' arch of water and you can still feel the pressure coming through the unit, so much so at times that I can hold my lance up with one hand and the pressure keeps the other end of the lance in the air!! My colleague who bought the nozzle aswell didn't notice much difference b ut he is abit of a meathead. Maybe my variable nozzle is just faulty. |

rs - are you using an E140 or a C120?
I can't fault the power on full "+" mode (rotated left) but there is definitely a fair drop when twisted to fill "-" mode. Not a big issue TBH hence me holding off. |

You pay £100 for a machine that 'might' last you two years if lucky.
And you have to add in the expensive cleaning fluid if using the bottle attachment. I find about £2 does a VERY good jetwash at the local IMO diy bay. And its industrial flow and pressure, sdo much faster. Is it worth it? FWIW I have a little Bosch PW similar spec to the Nilfisk quoted here, but cost me nothing from Holiday Inn Priority Club points. However, the flow is just not up to cleaning cars tbh. Steve
