Micro filter service lamp not resetting.

Completed a couple of jobs on my 330i today as they were coming due.

First was the rear brake pads, all went without a hitch with the service indicator resetting to 60,000 miles. Seems a bit high but I guess it works it out for itself.
Second was the easiest job, changing the micro filter. All is OK but the service indicator won't reset, it remains amber and has dashes for the mileage and date.
I have tried searching for the problem but have had no success, getting frustrated now.

Any help would be greatly received.

Oh, I have checked the OBC has the correct date and the car has idrive.

I had a similar problem which was fixed under warranty. I've been led to believe it was something to do with the climate/heating control panel.

Do you have a BT lead to do it with?

No, not using a BT lead just the standard reset proceedure.

Also, no, it appears not to have been a faulty climate panel.

Working in the aviation industry which have many electronic "glitches" when using a data transfer bus, I employed the usual power down, power up trick and it worked.

All I did was disconnect the battery for five minutes, reconnected it and hey presto everything reset as it should.

All is fine now, thanks for the input though.
