First Gear Vibration/Noise on AT

My E92 LCI xDrive AT (1,400 miles) seems to have a slight vibration/noise in the engine. The noise drops off after first gear (whether in D, DS mode). Anyone have this issue? Is this normal? xDrive related? Is this a tranny issue?

Thanks.

I think I have the same problem as yours.. Thought it was the turbo sound (first turbo car lol), maybe not. Let me know what fixes the problem

no service bulletin - just a call from dealer

I had to reschedule appointment, so it won't be until later this week to find out what this ECU reprogram is all about. i definitely have a noise in my engine.

I had the same issue...

They reprogrammed my engine and transmission replaced the exhaust lift kit. I was getting horrible mileage as well. Now it's been gone for 20 days to replace the heads. Will post and let you know of that does resolve my issues.

ECU reprogrammed

SA couldn't really explain why it needed 4 hour reprogram. He tested vibration and said might be wastegate for turbos, which wouldn't apply to 328. They really couldn't explain. Told me to come back if it persists. Cop out if you ask me.

So basically no fix? That's sad.. If it doesn't affect performance/engine life, I don't really care though.. not too annoying.

Got my car back. Everything is back to normal.
Exhaust lifters
Engine heads
Reprogrammed software

This all resolved ticking and vibrating noises along with horrible mileage.

Good to hear! I'm about to take delivery on mine so I'll make sure dealership has ensured all those things have been done!

Drive it for a while... atleast 1000 miles.

My '11 335xi had some weird startup issues when I first got it. Took about 1-2 seconds to turn over. Now, after 600 miles, it starts up on first turn and is solid...
