I have a Leak...!

Took my car in to my shop for some random stuff.

When we popped my hood open we noticed a part that was leaking oil. They said its probably a gasket & he wants to charge me $490.00 to replace the gasket

Does anyone know what this part is exactly? and is he overcharging me for the fix...

how serious is this issue and how quickly do I have to fix before it gets worse

Yep, it's actually very easy to fix.
Mine was leaking from the T stat gasket.
