Furious need some back up!
So I had Discount tire mount and balance my front 2 wheels when they arrived. Long story short they sctrached and damaged them in the process dropping one on its face and a large scratch on the other. They were kind enough to say they will buy me new rims which I was happy with their service at the time, and the gentleman also stated that I would be able to keep my rims. This made me even more happy so I could use one as a spare and do whatever with the other. After a week they gave me a call that the new ones were in and that they would re-mount them.
As I went to the store today to get the new rims put on the same gentleman said that he was going to have to take my damaged wheels... I became confused at this point? So there was a little discussion that resulted in the manager coming over and just telling me to call corporate. Terrible customer service in my opinion. So I left and will be calling corporate with a few issues Here's my thinking though. I purchased the rims not through discount tire therefore I own them; when they damaged them they are obligated to replace them. They should not be in any way entitled to taking my rims. I feel they are just trying not to take a hit to their pockets by getting credit back for the rims they ordered. In no way am I benefiting from this situtation except getting new undamaged wheels which I think we can all agree I'm entitled to. I need opinions of how I should go about this situtation. |

All I can say is have the BMW dealer (provided it's a larger dealership) do this work. If they screw up they HAVE to give you new wheels.

Personally, I agree with e92Durango. The school of thought is that they are buying your old rims off you for the price of the new ones, and putting the tires on them for you. That being said, you should have them pay you cash for the damage, sell them, and upgrade them... Since we all know we wanna do that with our cars

Yep, you've been made "whole" again by them replacing your wheels. I'm not sure what they plan to do with your old wheels, but you might offer to buy them back if you really want a spare.
