DRL option?
I notice in the handbook for my car it mentions the option of turning DRLs on or off. I don't have that menu on my car, is that because I don't have xenon's or is it because it's a pre-LCI?
Ta, Chris

The handbook only applies to pre Lci cars as the Lci was only a twinkle in Mr Bangles eye when the handbook was printed. It must apply to Xenons. My manual is the same and 1 year on I still look at my light switch and wonder what could have been.

I can turn them off (without I Drive). I use the steering stalk.
But as discussed before, DRL on without Xenons Pre LCI are just dipped beam. And DRL with Xenons Pre LCI is Xenon with halos (NOT just the halos). |

Yeah I found that information. Shame my car doesn't have the option at all.

Fit a set of LCI halogen lights, turn on the side lights and that's you got angel eye DRL's. That's if you really want to drive around with your headlights on.
I never knew the pre LCI DRL was halos and xenons. There was an E90 behind me this morning with that and I kept thinking "turn your dipped lights of you dick".

If you don't have Xenons, I think the DRL set up is dictated by the national market your car has been built for. So whilst the handbook (which is a straight English translation of a generic handbook) makes little sense for a UK car, it will for some other countries.

I prefer to run with lights on at all times it means dumb asses have no excuse for not seeing me and doing something stupid. I'm convinced it has stopped me getting into accidents due to someone's lack of observation skills.

On my previous car I had the lights on at all times too. Didn't feel silly at all.
