Window tinting shops on the Eastside
Hey all,
1st time poster, long time lurker. Anyone know of any good, reasonably priced tint shops on the Eastside? Thanks for any info.... |

Accutint
This is a notice to all people in the Seattle Area:
I do not personally recommend Accutint. I had my 335i tinted here and I entered the shop knowing that the car was not easily done. I left the shop unsatisfied with the work or the customer service. I had to come back to the shop to the shop to get a window redone due to peeling. They were ruff on the interior and my car reeked of cigarette smoke. There was also bubbling throughout the windows. Terrible workmanship.

I will be getting my tint done at Dealer Xpress of Auburn. I heard some great things about his work, and my friend was pretty impressed with the tint done on his Mazda 3.

I drove to Accutint and talked with some of the people there and watched how they tinted cars. I wasn't impressed and thanks to this post called Bellevue Auto Tint and spoke with Jim who seemed VERY knowledgable about what he is doing compared to Accutint.

How much did you guys pay for the tinting? I'm considering it, but I would like to get some ideas on how much I need to shell out for this. And what would you advise in opacity percentage?

Thanks for the heads up on Accutint....BTW I got quoted 289.95 for my e90 which comes w/ a lifetime factory from Bellevue Auto Tint. Though the pricing is a bit steep, I'm willing go with a reputable installer. Many of the guys on bimmerforums have been recommended Frank's Window Tinting in Lynwood so I might check them out as well.

20% is perfect (althouhg technically illegal). it's dark enough, but still comfortable when driving at night.

I did 15% and it looks great, the visibility difference between the 20 and the 15 is hardly noticable.

What's the chance of getting a fix-it ticket for 15 or 20% tint? I believe the legal limit is 35?

Here are some facts for you: I've driven a car with 20% tint for 2 years about 30-40 miles a day and my wife drove a car with 15% tint for 2 years and same daily mileage. Neither of us has gotten the "fix it ticket," although there were pleanty of cops driving around. I personally would not go below 20% though. The legal limit is 35%.

I'm over in the Lynnhood Edmonds area and I am wanting to get some quality tint on my car but I am having a hard time finding a place with the right referrals and materials. I don't "NEED" any Super Duper Huper Optic stuff, but I do not want the optically cloudy tint I had last time on my RX.

I'm still here. I took some pics on Sunday and will post them some time this week.
All I know is that Jim uses thick Johnson Window Film -- you can look them up on Google. |

Not the eastside, but we just had our e92 tinted at Fife Auto Spa (per dealer recommendation, plus the rig was in for service so she got a loaner while the service, tint, and EL42 RFTs were replaced). Anyway, I sure as hell hope the moisture comes out of the rear window or they will see it back! I've read how hard it can be, but I didn't expect this many bubbles. I'll try to get pics after I wash it tomorrow, but I'm not sure if they'll show up in the pic.

Can you post some pictures if the 35% all-round tint? And which brand did you get?
