Basic math ? TYA.mods delete plz
5.7 is what % greater than 5.2?
at first I thought 5.2x = 5.7 solve for x x=1.096... **X is not in a % form right? I'm missing a step..i can see "9.6" in my way..but what is left out? then someone said (5.7-5.2)/5.2*100 = 9.6% ???

Your question is formulated incorrectly imo.
5.7 is 109.6% of 5.2 or 5.2 is 91.2% of 5.7 I believe you're looking for the difference between one of these and 100%, so 9.6% or 8.8%. I would go with 9.6 from what you've written. |

You got the same thing bud. The multiplier 1.096 > 1 which means that it's a larger number than what you started with (5.2) and the remainder is the percentage that it's larger than. so, it's 0.096 bigger. But, you still have to convert it into a percentage: 0.096*100 = 9.6 percent.
