I can't seem to understand how BMW figures full torque starts at 1,200RPM. When I floor the pedal off dead start, full boost is consistently felt at 2,400 or higher. Before that it's sluggish. How are they measuring? Does anyone know?

Lol those are crank numbers which are tested differently.

Car maker power data is steady-stade engine dyno numbers. It's accurate unlike all the foolishness derived from chassis dynos. You can't see full torque until the turbo is spooled up. If you were in high gear at 1000 rpm going up a hill and floored it, you'd probably see close to full torque after a second or two for the turbo(s) to spool up.

Yea, I guess a high gear would be a different story since it revs up a lot slower. Didn't think of that lol...Thanks.

Yea I know but was just wondering how they do it. So I assume they attach the engine to a high gear and final drive.
