Halford's paint.
Halfords sell BMW touch-up paint, the question is will it be as good/bad as the stealers OEM version, anyone know how much the stealers charge for a touch-up pot?

i work for halfords, paint is decent quality made by minimix which is also who make a lot of dealer paints as well. Id get it mixed at the parts desk though to get an exact match. Some paints like brilliant black audi have about 4 different shades so the one thats on the shelf might not 100% match some models.

Dealer ones are more like £20.
I have a Halfords kit which is barely used - you're welcome to have it

I know yours is SG because of the grill thread! Last car was SG, hence no need for the kit

The halforda paint is great, it also has a double ended dispensor, with a brush on end, and a tiny metal nozzle on the other which is great for tiny stone chips.

dont go for Halfords, theyre paints are not really that good. Go direct to BMW or Order from a trusted source. Anyone claiming they have the exact OEM colour should be checked out carefully before using the paints.
Ive had a Saphire Black, Monaco Blue and Titanium Silver. I did a lot of the touch up jobs myself, I tried halfords kits, the ones they have of the shelf are mega BS. I had to often remove it and repaint with OEM, only one ever that worked from halfords was mixed by then, graphite grey. But I would suggest Dealer, Otherwise Mixed will just about pass. |
