Smile **2011 BMW 335i N55 DYNO VIDEO**

Hey guys, just got back from the Bavarian Exclusive Dyno contest held in La brea this afternoon and let me just say that it was awesome getting to see my car on a dyno for the very first time.

It was myself and 3 other N54's with straight bolt ons, no meth or upgraded turbo N54's (apparently they backed out). Anyways the N55 is really a torque monster, I think the winner of the event hit something like 370.20 HP and 380 TQ, while my best run was 352 and change HP / 423 TQ. (I'l post up the Dyno graphs later when they are emailed to me).

Enjoy the video!

Mods I am running:

Remus Race Quads
AR Design 4" downpipes
Vishnu V5 3-21 with updated fuel harness
(Awaiting AFE Stage 2 Intake - prepd for april delivery)
(Awaiting Vishnu Charge Pipe)
(Awaiting Stett to release FMIC) or should I get the one from HELIX? maybe you guys can help with suggestions.

Run 1 - 337 HP / 402 4th gear
Run 2 - 352 HP / 423 TQ (best run) 4th gear
Run 3 - Done in 3rd gear got like 339 HP / 380 TQ

Last run was done in 3rd because your car would go into limp mode in 4th. I must say, that car sounds SO good!!

How many lbs of boost were you running?

Also when did Shiv release DIC maps for the n55? I know about the regular 3-21 maps recently released.

if you dot want to go to limp mode, set your max boost to 17, and since the procede has a max boost to 14.5(if i remember right) if you hit 15psi it wont go to limp mode. i did that and works like a charm.

Great numbers! The new maps I'll be posted up next week will be more "friendly" to dyno testing. The overboost protection feature will be less sensitive. But the DME is still going to be be unhappy when it sees that the front wheels aren't spinning. In our test car, it triggers a "road surface" code when the rear wheels spin faster than 130mph. I'm not sure if this varies from car to car or is standard among all n55s. It may just be easier to dyno 1 gear lower (3rd for 6at and 6mt or 4th for DTC). This way, max mph is kept to around 100mph.

He never did for the n55... The OP must think those are DIC maps but they are not.

DCT can handle more than 420 tq!!
I think that tq will reduce the life time of the DCT.....maybe!

Correct, they are not DIC maps. We have not implemented DIC on the n55 yet. Once we wrap up n54 development, we'll port it over to the n55.

Car is a 6MT =O... and I don't think a 6MT should be ran in 3rd, my numbers dropped like mad when we did 2 runs in that gear... I think just upping the boost limit could have solved the issue and kept the car from going into limp in 4th, I guess I will try that next time.

Still though I'm very happy with those numbers for not having an intake or FMIC

Great numbers . We avoid dynoing in 3rd for consistency reasons, as well as traction on the rollers.
