Some advice pleasee

Hiya guy's i was looking at buying a BMW and i have been on the phone to the buyer and he has told me that the car was registered in Jersey ( the channel island's ). It was registered in the UK in 2009 so this will mean when i get a HPI check on the car it will only give me the history from 2009 onwards. He told me their was no other way of finding out what the history was before that. He bought the car from a Audi dealer and has the registration document when it was first registered in Jersey.

I just wanted to know what people's thought about this because i will not know what the history of the BMW was for the first two year's of it's life.
Is their anyway i could find what the history was before 2009? Would member's think it's abit dodgy?

Thanks in advance.

Theres only 2 options really, buy it cheap use it and sell it cheap or move on and buy something else
Ive tried getting service history from other countries but turned out to be nightmare maybe different with a BMW as I think they are more computerised, have you phoned BMW UK they are normally quite helpfull

There is only one BMW dealer in Jersey called Jacksons so they ought to have service history on the car and would have sold it new. The Audi dealer will also be part of the Jacksons group so they can possibly help out too.

Have you tried the HPI check, given Jersey is still part of the UK I think perhaps all the info will be there anyway.

If in doubt, walk. There are plenty of cars out there. As above I am not convinced an HPI will not work, and the local dealer on the island can confirm history (as can BMW UK).

Too much choice.
Why take a chance?
