VO -- what does it really look like???
I have a 1M on order (October delivery--- blah) and have cycled through every color choice. As it stands right now, I have it coming in white. I'm really trying to love the orange color but it seems too risky... every picture seems to look different. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to go to a car show to see the car in person.
My question is for those who have seen it in person.... Does it look like the pics in #1 or more like #2 http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520176 I really do not like the color in #1 (seems like a more dull brownish/orange), but the more "blood orange" or reddish orange color of #2 really seem great. The "only" good thing about October delivery is that I have some more time to decide a color and hopefully see a car in person. Thanks. |

This series of shots:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=517054 And this series: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=114 are in my opinion, the best indication of real life colour. The first link, the first column of BMWBlog pictures make the car look brownish and copper which i can thankfully say it is not. I was in the same dilemma and was going to rule VO out however after seeing it in real life, I am very interested. |

mine id black byw....best choice IMO....it outlines the aggressive stance of the car, then white is second best,,,,then VO...i think this color is only a good temporary color, you will get sick of the orange after a while...its a marketing color

VO realy pops under direct sun or spot lights. In indirect lights or shade... it looks more copper-ish.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520176 ^^2nd, 3rd and 4th(wheel pic) photos represent what VO looks like in real life, under the spot lamps. Not so much the 1st photo though. Hope that helps. Dackel |

I plan on going to the show tomorrow and will take a bunch of shots. I have a VOP on order, and btw for everyone on here I am paying sticker for the car, Paul Miller did not even attempt to charge over sticker. Most reputable dealers will have the same stance.
Can't wait to see it in person!!!

paul miller is hands down the best where i got my 1 and will be placing for my 1m matt wood is the guy to go to there![/QUOTE] I used to work there in 2004, and the guy I always go to and send people to is Jerzy Kutyla. My mother refinanced her Z4 3.0si, and my brother got his 135i from him as well. Apparently I have the only one in his current allocation coming in, but I'm sure that by summer they will receive another one in allocation.

Thanks a lot for those links! I had not seen those pics yet. MAN... they both look good, but so completely different. Seems to change the whole persona of the car. I'm keeping my order for white for the time being and hope to still see a VO in person. |

We saw VO at the Toronto auto show and found it quite attractive. It seemed to have more of a copper component to it than expected, but very difficult to get a photo with an accurate representation. It wasn't as intense at the pics in the OPs second link.
The color would change when hit with a camera flash or even with the angle of the light hitting it. The car was blasted with the show lights so it will almost likely look different under natural light, and even then my guess is it will change when in direct sunlight and again on cloudy days. While I did like the color, I'm still leaning towards AW (although my wife is pushing for VO). |
