Smokers Pack

Hi all!

Just ordered my 1M - and the dealer was not able to remove the "smokers pack" from the options.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is the smokers pack compulsory? Anyone with a 1M already delivered - can you confirm if that is shipped standard?

Really wanting to swap a lighter for a coin tray!

Don't know about NZ but in the UK it's available as a non-cost option

"441 - Smoker's package deletion - £0.00
Deletion of lighter and ashtray in the front, replaced by open storage compartment (without power socket in storage compartment)."

I saw the open storage bin in front of the gear stick in some photos and didn't like it. Even though I don't smoke but prefer how it looks with the cover on that comes with the smokers pack.

However, remember in the UK at least (maybe NZ too) that we will get a 1 of 450 plaque installed on the ashtray lid cover. So even if you can delete it, they may put it back on.

May explain why you couldn't remove it.

I'm the complete opposite, I HATE how BMW throws in that cheap open bin in front of the shifter. What I would give to have the smoker's package on my car

We're lucky it's standard in the UK! I've never smoked but the extra power outlet is occasionally useful and if you stick a bit of rubber in the bottom of the ashtray then it stops your coins from rattling around!

Smokers Pack/Smokers Pack Deletion is definitely a Leipzig factory option but different markets have different policies on whether to offer it to their customers...

In the UK the smokers Pack is standard, in the US you can't get it. Maybe in NZ you can't get rid of it?

My car has the smoker's pack Useless except as a power outlet since I don't smoke, but at least it has it. I think they did away with it in the U.S. starting with the '10 model year.
