F31 Touring (3 Series Wagon) Gone from US?

Seems I've read that the F31 Touring wagon will not be imported into the US. Is this true? So would the last wagon for the American market be the 2011 E91? If true, this is incredibly sad news (and I had better order a 2011 328xi wagon soon).
I love my 2000 323it wagon, but it badly needs replacing.

True, I could probably secure a good deal on a E91 off a lot, but I really want a manuel and I've noticed that these are very rare on the wagons. So I'll likely order one for European Delivery. Not only would I get the discount, but would end up with the exact options/packages that I want but would not have to pay for the ones I don't. Damn, I am just sad that the F31 won't be imported--I've been through the sports utility routine, and I really like a wagon but with the handling and features of a three series. I don't know why so few Americans don't "see it my way."

One more question: Does anyone have a guesstimate as to when production would end on the E90/91?

In the UK we normally get a few months of the sedan (saloon), before the wagon (touring) comes into production, so get a chance to see how the sedan sits for design, etc. Is it similar in the US? I sense the wagon production will be well into 2012, at least in RHD specification.

This is exactly what I did with my 335i, which I pick up at the BMW Welt on May 11. I thought about going with a 328i wagon w/manual, but was seduced by the torque of the 335i. I got tired of looking at used ones that had been run to death with 15-20k oil changes and mods out the wazoo that voided the warranty. I took the advice of friends who suggested European Delivery and I looked into it. I haven't heard of a bad experience yet, but will let you know how it goes.

I tried to order a Monoco Blue E91 in May 2010. I missed the 2010 cut-off, ended up having to order a 2011 (BMW stopped Monoco for 2011, BTW). Given it's now May, if you are interested in an E91, I'd call a dealer to see if BMW is still taking orders...

The F11 will arrive 1 year after the F10 in EU? If it's true, there is at least another year or more..

I hope the F11 will come in NA. I love my E91.

I see a few F11s every day on the roads in The Netherlands.

Lots of engines available in Europe: 520d, 523i, 525d, 528i, 530d, 535d, 535i. I believe that both the 523i and 528i use the N53 (3.0 liter, NA).
