I CAN'T STAND WAITING! Meanwhile, what are your future plans/fantasies with your 1M?
As the title stated, I can't handle the wait!!!
On a daily basis I think, I daydream and I fantasize about the 1M, True Story. This forum is so bitter sweet. I love hearing these awesome reviews and reading the new owners' experiences, but it only increases my desire and want for my car RIGHT NOW! Yes I am a big baby. Since there is nothing which can be done about the wait... let us dream some more. What do you plan on doing to your future 1M? 1) Performance/ Engine/ Suspension/ etc. ? (I understand not many mods are available, but you can imagine can't you?) 2) Visual/ Body/ Paint/ Accessories/ etc.? 3) Usage? Track Day Car/ Race Tracks/ Events/ Meets/ Gumball/ Cannonball/ Daily Drive/ Weekend/ Angeles Crest/ Mulholland Canyon/ Nurburg/ etc.? Lets hear it!!!! |

Right after delivery I'm planning to throw in a new shift knob, gloss black grills, and gloss black vinyl wrap the chrome pieces on the side of the car.
Then once I've had the car for a bit, fully take in the VO, I'll decide if I want to wrap the roof and side mirrors in gloss black vinyl, and what color rims would look good on VO |

I plan on being very gentle with it through the break-in period. I have a verrrry long commute so it wont take long ....Once it is broken-in and I can use it to its full potential, I will race my dads '09 911 carrera S....(although on paper I would lose...I have confidence in my driving abilities against my dad lmao)
But my ultimate fantasy is to pull up to the Beachside parking area in Daytona Beach, windows down, Eazy-e bangin in the stereo, and watching all the cute latin chicas turning their heads my way. Ill be in a BSM btw |

Window tint, 18inch black track wheels and tires, track pads, 3m protection for rear wheel archs and front of hood. After 5000k and a few track days i will look into a boost by Dinan or some other 3rd party.

first of all i will drive all good mountain roads - which fortunately are just outside my house so to speak
i will also add 3m protection on front, hood and fenders ...and an ultra-sonic - electro shock anti marten device still planning on powdercoating the wheels in dark grey?

I'm not sure you guys will want to swap the factory shift knob. It is one of the best feeling shift knobs I have ever used.

Thinking of powder coating the wheels black, I think it would look sick on a AW 1M.
Install the "ultimate pedals" I had on my 135, then drop in a audiophile lightweight stereo system with a couple 8" subs, lightweight battery, just keep it light but still make it a killer system. According to my sound guy new bimmers have fiber optic connections, which would make integration of a system with idrive real easy and seamless, without making any annoying hums in the background. Keeping my fingers crossed the 1M will have these connections, i'm pretty sure it will. Then just take it easy with the break in and see what else she really needs, maybe a slight drop on some coilovers and wider tires. |

Yes, back in November.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=457073 The knob is the same shorter, weighted shifter from the E46 ZHP package. The knob has a great ergonomic feel to it with throws that definitely felt shorter than that of my 135.

Future plans = Straight off the bat i'm going to go for BMW Perfomance black kidney grills and carbon boot lip (fiited by the stealer when I pick my BSM).
Then i'll wait to see which lowering springs come out as it looks too high. Nothing drastic, most probably go with Eibachs or similar whilst hoping not to kill the handling! I like the look of the BWW performance seats aswell but my wife dictated heated seats so that is most probably out of the question! Further down the line a remap and exhaust with the aim for an easy/unstressed 380bhp. An Akra will be out of my league so i'll see who does what on the exhaust front. Throughout i'll be looking for a factory finish. Fantasy would be the carbon bonnet (spayed BSM except for the vents) off the MotoGP pace car and maybe a carbon roof panel a la CSL. |
