First impressions - 325d SE Touring
Well after waiting since putting my order in during January, I finally picked up my new 325d SE Touring on Monday. I posted a pic of it earlier and have a few more to put up but I can't do that until the weekend so more to follow.
I wanted a change from my 123d coupe for space reasons, harshness of ride, and the fact I'd shoved a lot of miles on it since owning the car, so cash it in whilst it had some meaningful value was also part of the plan. I was happy enough with the 46.3 mpg average it had maintained and if I could keep that average then great. First impressions of the 325d are it is just what I wanted (which is as well 'cos I specced it ), in fact it has exceeded my expectations over the 400 miles that's now on it. What's good:- Creamy 6 cylinder diesel, which is really smooth and pulls well.....although I'm running it easily for now for the next few days anyway. Suspension and 17"RFT's - It's the "detuned" suspension and I find it perfect. Not soft by any means but I'm not crashing down potholes every five seconds either and no tramlining. I-Drive: I haven't fully played with the pro multimedia system but it's a huge improvement over the previous version I had in the 123 and it does 7 digit postcodes. Fuel economy - It's still a new tight engine but after 400 miles, the average mpg is sitting at 48.7, better than I had previously! Impressive for a 6 cylinder. Load space - It's plenty big enough for all I'm going to need Quality of fit and finish - It's well screwed together and feels solid with good quality fittings. What's bad:- I haven't found anything yet....it's awesome What's curious:- I picked it up with 10 miles on the clock and the trip recorder zeroed and I haven't touched the trip meter since. Now at 400 miles on the clock, there's a 6 and a bit mile difference between the trip and the mileometer not a 10 mile one. All in all I think I've got a cracker of a car. Well happy is the understatement of the year. Thumbs up to the dealer I bought it from too (Edinburgh based). They've been really helpful and have been a pleasure to deal with. |

The trip vs odo difference: maybe it was set to kilometres when you picked it up. 10km = 6 mi.
Glad you like your car. What audio system did you get? Did you get a sunroof? |

Your views mirror mine is so many ways. Although ours is a 330d SE Touring Automatic. Also having previously owned a 123d the biggest surprise is the economy I am getting. 39 MPG aroung town and 49 MPG on a motorway run at 70 - 80.
For a car that hits 60 in 6 secs, has awesome mid range, is limited to 155 and is a doddle to drive that is just incredible. |

I have got between 36mpg (with two bikes on rack on roof) to 54mpg (motorway) out of my 330d LCI .... the 6 cylinder diesels now take a lot of beating on economy as well as performance |

I've just received mine after just a month and a half of waiting. This is the second 325D Touring Auto I own (1st one was from late 2007). Almost full options.
the cons : - the one thing I really regret is the automatic boot cover release ! - aerodynamic noises from the new-shaped mirrors and roof-rails - no more rest function but that can be coded :-) - the folding head-rest and dual rear 12V plug are now options : be carefull when you order the pros: - better automatic gearbox laws (less slip in the 1000-2000 rev range when you leave stop), and paddles are a must have - the user-selectable down right mirror on reverse function can be useful. - better sound insulation in that rev range too, you can now distinctly hear the 6 cylinders - far better i-drive of course - the led lights, more visible by others - the M sport suspension, perfectly tune and no roll - same car than 330D but detuned engine, should be durable. This LCI car is overall better than the previous one and the level was high. Of course its new so everything is extremely smooth and smelly, but one thing I can say is that it ages perfectly well. The old I gave back with 50k miles was like new. The consumption is the same around 30mpg average around town. |

Hi BanziBarn,
according to my VO, this could probably be 313 AUSSENSPIEGELPAKET Each keyfob earn its own memories (radios, etc... and mirrors !). You can toggle this dipping comportment with the mirror selection button when reverse is selected. |

I thought all of the 3 series in the Uk were set up to do this if the mirror position adjuster was set to the drivers side ... I have had a 320d and now a 330d - both have done it ... though they are coupe's so maybe they are different ??
