Question Spoiler delete option on 1M...

I tried to do a spoiler delete when ordering and no dice. Totally sucks because I am not a fan of the lip spoiler. I just think the lid looks so much cleaner without it.

Some would say just remove it when you get it. But when I did that on my E90M3, you could see how the clear coat cured under the spoiler differently than the rest of the trunk. Anybody else try to do the spoiler delete on the 1M?

IF you like the spoiler delete look... then by all means take it off.

IF the clear coat cures differently... then take it to a body shop or detail shop and have the clear coat wet sanded and buffed out. Should be no big deal.

Btw... I did the "135i" nomenclature delete on my trunk lid and had no issues.

I am not a fan as well. I did mine the first week I took delivery. I used dental floss and used adhesive remover for the double sided taped residue. The paint was still perfect... Do it...

^^Nice wheels M3R1. What wheels are those? Knock offs? Specs? How about one more side pic. Sorry to thread-jack. Maybe you could throw in a close up of your trunk lid spoiler delete to get us back on track.

Yeah I know how to remove it, I just wanted to know if anyone has tried to order a 1M without one. I understand the limited color/spec options to keep production cost down, but to leave the lip spoiler off would'nt increase production cost one cent. I know there are people that feel the same way about the lip spoilers as I do, otherwise BMW would not have offered it as a no cost option on the spec sheet for the E46 & E9x.

Here is a couple os pics of my M3 with out the spoiler. I just like it better, totat personal preference.

yea, you can remove it no issue but don't forget it is functional. I would only remove it to install the carbon fiber performance catalog lip.
