335xi running right? Some AMG experiences yesterday

Hey guys,

I switched my stock 17"s with run flats and now have Miro 111s with 18" pirelli pzero nero a/s ... anyway after this happened, the car felt slower (not exactly slower, just less responsive maybe) in regular D (steptronic) -- felt the same in DS... anyways I have a 2008 335xi coupe (33k miles). Car is 100% stock (except for 4" cyba tips) - So then I thought could the welds leak on the tips cause the car to feel slower (since wheels and tips were 1 day apart)...?

In any event yesterday I was able to encounter a 2005 C55 AMG - From motortrend, 0-60 mph, sec 4.9
1/4 mile, sec @ mph 13.2 @ 107.3
Max horsepower 362 @ 5750 rpm
Max torque, lb-ft 376 @ 4000 rpm

Read more: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...#ixzz1N5xWw4nh

car and driver:The C55 hit 60 in just 4.7 seconds and covered the quarter in 13.3 at 108 mph

Both cars had 1 passenger

Now from a dead stop my awd helped me... (he was at my rear door till 80) and were basically even till 120 then he started to pull the littlest bit and my nose was at his front tire.

I felt better after this, thinking my car is running fine, esp since I have an XI and the car is heavier, and his v8 also has 62 hp more..

So does my stock 335xi seem to be running fine?

I am pissed; just bought a JB+ that will be here on Monday. I think it would have been a world of a difference if I already had that in at 75% which I plan to run it at.

theres no possible way the welds have anything to do with the car feeling slower.

What tire size do you have on the 18'? You must respect the stock overall diameter for ABS, gearing, speedometer... Bigger wheels will increase rolling mass too.

the jb4 will really make you happy but i can stress enough what a big change downpipes and a helix front mount did for me. major gains, and run good even on hot muggy days. really opens the cars flowung capabilites up...

my guess is your OEM 17 are heavier than your Miro 111's.

Usually the stock wheels are a little heavier. A tune will definitely awaken your car and obliterate any C55.
