What did everyone pay for the tire/wheel protection?

I originally went in to the dealership not wanting to get the package, but a guy a know (a friend who would not lie to me) is the body shop manager and he really suggested I do it b/c without it he's seen people really get taken for replacement costs.

For 5 years it was like 1550.....good, bad or normal?...I live in northern NJ

Good. That is excluding tax, I assume. I got it for $1850 with tax. The financial fatso tried to rip me at $2140, had to bargain.

You never know what gonna happen on the way,if you order your car whit a 19 wheels the cost for each tire is 410 usd whit out tax, the wheels is more 600 usd for each wheel, know that is your decision, the ensurance is for five years.

The cost is VERY different per state so you have to take that into account....hence why I put NJ in my post...we like potholes up here!

Could not agree more....I mean 1500 (in NJ) for 5 years of no worries to me is worth it on a 50K SUV. I've gone years without any incidents, but I know people who have taken out 2 tires and 2 wheels on the same pothole....what happens then right?

And you know what...here is the big thing to me....I want to drive my X3 and enjoy it every freekin second without constantly worrying about slowing down and going around everything and being all cautions...if I don't have insurance I think I'm going to sit there and be more focused on the potholes than driving my baby...and God forbid I have one incident or two incidents, without insurance you'd be so cautious why drive it? To me that's worth 1500 bucks too

And oh by the way here's the other thing....I got the 18 inch 308s on my X3, but once BMW performance comes out with nicer wheels than the 309s I'm probably going to get something there in either 19 or 20 inch form. (probably 19...I'm not crazy)

And if I do that, my insurance plan covers those wheels TOO!!! So I get 8 wheels and 8 tires covered

Connecticut $1475. Sounds like alot of variation by region and dealer. Just like car insurance.

My wife has tire/rim insurance on her Mini and it has paid for itself in 20 months. Of course she seems to aim at potholes!!!

Call the dealer here and buy the insurance from here or anywhere cheaper. It should carry over, shouldn't it?
