Can't - my dad is flying in the next day, so I'll be busy cleaning house. Have fun - take pics! Better yet, video! I've heard it's a gorgeous drive... enjoy!

"The tour will start out at the Colorado Visitors Center just west of I-25 at the Prospect Road Exit (exit 268) and go about ¼ mile west to the first light, turn left to the parking areas. This is where the groups will gather to use the facilities and take a brief break to freshen up and re-fuel for the exciting drive ahead. Don’t forget to take a few minutes to check out the exhibits at the visitor’s center, there is always something new on hand. Here, we will divide the group into four different subgroups so that we can better manage all level of drivers. There will even be a group for “tour” drivers that are along for the social and scenic aspects of the drive, we will have a group that fits your drive goals. The actual drive will begin with a trip north to Laramie following Hwy 287, along the route of the historic Overland Stage coach; we just cover the ground a little faster. As an alternate route, we may travel up the Poudre Canyon, a 50 mile ribbon of the twisty asphalt that’s a bimmer paradise. After a brief rest-stop, we then continue to Walden for a special buffet feast at the famous “River Rock Café” in beautiful downtown Walden nestled between the majestic ranges of the Medicine Bow and Mt. Zirkel Wilderness. You will be impressed by their asphalt parking lot were we can park our “special” cars and the rough hewn logs, hand-selected river rock and rustic interior of this local gathering place. After lunch, its south to Rand on Hwy 125 and over Willow Creek Pass. This is one of Colorado’s premier Sports car routes; you really don’t want to miss this road with long sweeping curves, beautiful high alpine meadows and great mountain scenery. Just keep your eyes on the road! It ranks as a must drive in my logbook every year. Then we come back down to earth in Granby where will stop to share some afternoon Ice Cream treats."

I assume he means Colorado Welcome Center in Ft. Collins? http://maps.google.com/maps/place?ci...1&spn=0,0&z=10
I have read that message at least a dozen times, and I still get confused as to what's happening where. I guess the "start" above is not actually the real start, which is at some intersection in Denver. I guess it's a test. |

Unless I am missing something, seems pretty clear that the start is at the Colo Welcome/Visitor's center just west of I-25 on Prospect. Depending on where you are coming from, you can join one of the "groups" on their journey to the starting point above. For example, people in Denver are going to meet at 120th and I-25 at 8:15-8:30 then drive up to the Welcome Center for full group departure at 9:30.

If you're coming from Denver, meet at the 120th/I-25 Park N Ride. It sounds like the whole group is meeting at the location he lists (visitor's center) but I'll email him to confirm; hopefully he'll send out a reminder to the CCA mailing list (their communication about upcoming events has been pretty sparse this year)...

If you Google "Colorado Visitor's Center," you get a ton of hits all over. However, the "Colorado Welcome Center" in Fort Collins is on Prospect, so I'm assuming this is what he means. Handy map link to send to your iDrive: http://maps.google.com/maps/place?ci...1&spn=0,0&z=10
I think that's where I'll meet, Thornton being a tad off out of the way. |

I emailed Gary and he said it's indeed the parking lot of the visitor's center. The original description was quite confusing.

If it was the same car it came to the Spring Performance Driving School on Saturday. Pretty sure it's MCB.

MCB with competition wheels/package, dct and color matched reflectors? I think his name is Tim or Tom. I met him a few weeks back at Sonic in Littleton. It's a nice looking car for sure. Too bad i wasn't able to make it.
