TopSpeed Motorsports - BMW Specialist Intro
Hello everybody!
I just wanted to do a “re-introduction” thread and get to know everybody. My name is Tyler Heinzelmann and I am going to be managing the BMW division here at TopSpeed Motorsports! I am an avid BMW enthusiast and I have a passion for making these cars “Go Faster” in every sense of the word. Most of you have heard about TopSpeed Motorsports and our staff, but for those who are not familiar with us, allow me to give you some background information and show everybody what we have been up to here at the shop. Our tuner/co-owner Doug Wilks has been tuning for over 16 years! Tuning everything from 1300hp, daily driven, 8 second Supras to our OneLap of America winning Porsche and GT-R. His tunes are unrivaled in drive-ability, safety and power. TopSpeed is a fully furnished performance facility offering solutions for every aspect of speed and racing. Whether you need suspension setup, fabrication, parts installation, track-side consulting or tuning, we have it all here under one roof. From our dedicated suspension tech, who specializes in Race Winning suspension setup to our World Class tuner and everything in between, we have what you need. As many of you may know, one of our favorite events every year here at TopSpeed is Brock Yates' OneLap of America race. In 2010, we came in 1st place overall with a Porsche GT2. This year we decided that we would change it up and build a car for OneLap that was on a new platform, so that we could show our diversity as a shop. We decided to enter a 2010 Nissan GT-R for this years race, and we were able to take the title home with us for a second year in a row. I have provided a link to the 2011 OneLap of America build for those who are interested: http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=46876 Due to Brock Yates’ OneLap of America race, and the rapid growth of the shop, we have not had the opportunity to get involved with everything that we want to, and that is where I come in. My goal is to build a strong relationship with the BMW community and meet all of your needs regardless of what you are looking to accomplish with your BMW. At TopSpeed, we have been tuning turboed BMW’s for awhile now using our own software. Our in-house 135i made 375whp and 401tq using the TopSpeed Stg0 reflash, Stg0 meaning stock parts with simply a flash. Unlike the piggyback units we have full control over timing, fuel, limiters, boost and all other aspects of this very complex DME. We have been able to achive outstanding hp/tq numbers along with uncompromised reliability with our flash, and better fuel mileage just to put the icing on the cake. Here is the dyno sheet from “Bunny”, the TopSpeed 135i. Although we have already made a thread dedicated to the Cobb tuning software, I wanted to provide a dyno graph for those of you who haven’t seen it. This graph is an off the shelf Cobb tune and as you can see, we had great results. We are anxiously waiting for Cobb to release the AccessTuner software to the US ProTuners so that we can see what we can continue to push the limits of the N54/N55 motor I look forward to getting to know all of you! Feel free to PM us or call the shop with any questions TopSpeed Motorsports 678-297-7770 -Tyler Heinzelmann |

Welcome tyler. I have a question...I'm only looking for about 400 whp. So with your inhouse tune, intake, FMIC, that number should be attainable right? How safe would something like that be? And I'm guessing this reflash can be pick up by bmw (store a code)

TS Tune
I'll jump in here guys as I am a TopSpeed customer. I got their flash a year ago. Since then I have retuned two more times as I added a AMS FMIC and then AR catless DP's. The attached dyno is of the latest tune....
Car runs great last long time and I average 24.7mpg all day every day...except for the track then it's like 6mpg Any specific questions I'll be happy to answer, but I'm sure Tyler will chime in soon. Cheers

Glad to see you guys are a sponsor now. I can say from first-hand experience, whatever power the bunny 135 puts down...its amazing to drive! I was throughly impressed with the smooth power delivery and the overall consistent feel; very impressive! Hope to meet you sometime Tyler, everyone I met up there is really cool

I'll go ahead a say it, TopSpeed is arguable the best "street car" shop in the Nation
Only shop to sweep Brock Yates 1 Lap of America Only shop to do it twice (icing on the cake) Their tuning is better than piggy backs and re-flashes if your willing to get it up there on their dyno (only way i'd go).

+1 there is nobody better around here that can do a better job with software on your BMW. I would not trust anybody, but TopSpeed with my car.
