Roof Rack Love

Washed the car Saturday and went mountain biking on Sunday. Never took any decent pics of the bike on the roof so I decided to snap a few.

I got the Thule 871XT (38in) fairing. The clamps that come with the fairing don't fit 100% but enough to make it not fly away. Sits pretty sturdy on there. The back end of the clamp doesnt sit flush with the cross bar but goes into that little groove which keeps its secure. The front of the clamp sits perfectly on the cross bar. Drove with it for 2 years without any problems.

Side note: The only time I had a problem (and this was my fault cause i'm a retard), the fairing flew off when I went through the drying portion of the car wash lol. So note to everyone, take it off when you go through a car wash haha.

They are foam based pads with 3M tape, so they will never come off. Came with the fairing. I haven't noticed any scratching on both the cars I had the rack on (SGM and TiAg).

The rack doesn't have any locks, but uses star hex bolts. Which I guess isn't much security. The carrier itself has a key lock on the support bar, which locks the strap to the frame of the bike.

Yep, got em from jlevi. Usually get lots of compliments on them. They look awesome when all lit up.
