New iDrive introduction date

Yo yo.

So if I look at a 58 plated car will it definitely have the new iDrive system? What was the date they started getting fitted with it guys? I know on an 08 "some" people have the new one but most don't. So hopefully all 58 plate cars have the new system?

Also is this still true when we talking about dem m trees? ... I'm still torn between 335d / M3, you see...

Chars.

Mine's Oct 2008 and has the newer iDrive.

I'm guessing the same would be the same for the 'M's'

If there are lines in the bonnet, you should be safe.

I can't be absolutely certain for E92/E93, but to get the additional buttons, the updated nav screen and the updated hard drive, I think you'd be looking at a 59 plate.

Feel free to correct me if you think I'm completely out. I'd like to figure this one out.

I am aware. The original post didn't mention anything about a specific E9x, hence my post.

Mine's Oct 58 and does have the newer iDrive.

(OT: Anneka when were the M3 'Editions' first on sale, and were they all LCI?)

Sorry for the slight hi-jack Dave

The e92 M3 Editions were all pre-lci Built from July 09 to Dec 09.

What features are we thinking of when we say newer iDrive? That will help to figure out where to start looking. The issue with finding an exact date is that the introduction of features was staggered.

Thanks Anneka, so the bonnet on a E92 would be the same as that on the 'Edition' M3, save the bulge and the vents.

The real question is - would the grills from an M3 'Edition' fit the E92?

Anyway, back to the original question,my car Oct 08 has the 7 buttons, does that help?

I believe so. I don't see any reason why any E92M grilles wouldn't fit an E92.

Ta, you've just confirmed what I was thinking.

I could order some 'Edition' grills via your goodself then?
