Convertible, Coupes, Roadsters - Summer Meet AUGUST 21, 2011 - SUNDAY - NORTH JERSEY

Anyone interested in doing a meet at Palisades Park Near Fort Lee/Ross Dock Area in Northern NJ. Z85/Z89 meet, other BMWs welcome too.

I am picking up my Z35i in July, would like to plan something like 20-40 cars, I have a Canon T2i which I like to use for that day to snap some nice shots.

Let me know.
They also have a BBQ area so that would also be part of it if people like to eat...lol

My plan is to meet up by Ross Docks, get photos of the your car/our cars together at GWB area, (this was shot for the Gotham Dream Cars and Garage419 video of the 458 Italia, for those who know this area)

We cruises around the park, nice twisty and elevations, on the mountainside.
Park in the picnic area and have a BBQ, talk cars and have a good time with other Z'ers and Bimmers.

Let me know what you think, First week of August??
Weekend most likely, Sunday or Saturday?
Afternoon or morning to the after hours.

*** For those who want to get crazy, we can do Luxury4Play style and take over time square at night with 20-30 z's, that would be a killer photo shoot...

UPDATE::: 6/28/11

This is what I think the day would look like...

11AM- Meetup Point** we can take a drive to Bear MTN starting there and go through the roads, (map and directions will be provided soon) then....

12PM- Group everyone together for the drive around Palisades Park, my buddy should be available to take some nice videos/shoots while we roll through the hillside and ross dock area.

1PM- FOOD, this is going to be a sponsored event, I am going to ask local dealers and auto enthusiastic companies to join in, if you are a company you like to promote, its a $100... This money goes towards the food, utensils, and etc for the BBQ. (I figured this is the best way because companies get a little exposure and we get to have free food, sounds good to me)

2PM- Everyone just have a good time, Music should be provided by 1. a DJ (I know some but not sure if they will do it for free) 2. someone have a nice system that can pump music for 2 hours? 3. Everyone get headphones...

3PM- Meet dies down, photo time for individuals and group, etc.

4PM- End

Thats how I would like it to go, so far I am doing the planning and logistics of this meet, if anyone would like to help just PM me or email: david.lee.consult@gmail.com

THANKS everyone!

77 other people think otherwise... Let's get some momentum on this...

I leave it to the majority setting up time, date, duration, and bbq food festivities.

I can cook, organize, and drive...

They have grills there, you need food, cooking utensils, and everything else for a bbq.

Let's have at least 10 cars to show up?

Drive is nothing crazy just cruise up to that area and taking nice photos. Not disturbing the cops since they are right there at the entrance of the park.

Calling all Z e89/e85's preferred but we love all E's and F's models too.

I'm up- I say just pick a date that works for you. Having a concrete date will always be best rather then waiting for evryone to chime in- this way we can put it on our calendars now to reserve the date. Even if it's only 10 cars, on a nice day it will still be great. Thanks for organizing and congrats on the new ride!

Yea; I'm guessing a definite date could get this thing going.. I'd say we just get cars of all kinds and call it a wrap! A bit of diversity never hurt anyone!

How does August 21st sound for everyone... Early afternoon, drive + meet + eat. Who ever order a car in May will/should have their car by then for this meet. @STOOF what did you build? I am also waiting for mine... Regensberg says June 27 complete and then 13 days to ship... so July 9??

Hey Dave, good to see you here on ZPOST and to the rest of you Z drivers, Hi. I am always down for any meets or drives. There seems to be a pretty big disconnect between the e89 and e85/6 drivers and meets. Seems like e85/6ers stick together and e89ers do their own thing. If we get something going I can always ask a few e85/6ers to come as well. Since Aug 20 is so far out, you folks have anything else planned anytime soon?

8/21 sounds good to me as of right now. Far enough away to get a nice size group of ppl together.

haha almost everything. They told me production space was limited so it would take an extra month, which is ok since i have my G37 til end of oct. but they already started prod on my Z so im thinking end of july/beg of aug it should be here.

We could always get small meetups or meet at Edgewater meets (Every Thursday night, near the Stabucks/Pathmark, good turn usually 200 cars)...I like to get it sponsored and done right where we have all the necessary things in place for us to enjoy a good time, drive, and parking... I will figure out the logistics, I will provide more details in the weeks to come.

@Stoof, I got the same carrrr! (minus the premium stuff)lol Nice, and I thought I was going to be the only one in this area to have ALpine on Coral lol Def come through on this meet so I can snap photos of the twins!

So guys this is my idea (rough) on how the day should go...

What a great idea! I'm new to this community (GF picked up a Z4 a few months back). I'm not sure if I could make the 8/21 date, but shoot me an email if you need assistance in planning / logistics for the drive.

I'm very familiar with the area and have worked on a number of drives in Harriman / Bear Mountain. I've done the official photos / helped with planning for the Cliffs of Insanity (COI) drive (100+ cars) the last few years and I organize a group Audi RS4 only (20+ cars) drive up in the area every year.

You can look through my site for some shots / ideas: www.brianjaphoto.com

Some are from there, for sure. For example:

I also tend to set up on Bear Mountain Bridge Road and few spots in Harriman State Park.

Brian those are some sick photos... For sure if you like to help with the logistics of the meet, we all would appreciate it. At this point, I have only posted to Zpost.com so originally I wanted to just have a Z4 meet but now I think all BMWs are welcomed... Would like to get like 100 cars. (Awesome meet)
