Repair?DamagePICS
Hey all, been a while since I logged in, with some bad news...unfortunately.
Was backed up into last week by my friends brother, in the drive way... Insurance is sorted already, with an appraisal later this month by statefarm. Can ya'll help out on what the ball park $$$ range of a dealership/independent shop cost?(fix/repaint) (I was hoping to have some $$$ left over for an exhaust?) --Door tip was also dented with a crease. Will include this cost into appraisal. Thanks UPDATE: QUOTE is 1024.11. Is that possible?!

I see damage to the rear quarterpanel and door. I see bodywork, prep, paint and blend. $4-500 doesn't come close to fixing this. |

I got hit on my drivers side, needed 2 new door panels and side skirt. Total cost : $5800 My assumption is yours will be around half that, but then again I had mine done at Bentley Calgary.

Update: the quote is 1024.11. Does this seem fair?
Thanks

$1024 sounds correct when insurance is factor in. If you look at the damage, everything is repairable, nothing will get replace. It's just bondo and repaint. When you have to replace parts here and there, that's when things can add up quickly.
Also, I am absoultely amazed at the ridicolous high quote some of you are throwing out and misleading this poor guy. Body shop are know to pad their bottom line with inflated repair quotes and time worked. Guess what, the insurance companies know this. A body shop here in Northern California charges $95 a hour for body repair. When you get the insurance companies involve, this rates drops to the low $60. I suspect other parts of the country are even lower. The insurance company will only pay out the actual time work deem by their time and rates, not the shop time and rate. The body shop if they accept the insurance company's payment must accept it as in full and repair your car back to pre-accident condition. |

I said this a few post above:
"I had a hit and run at the same sport, mine was dented and scratched from quarter panel to passenger door. Estimate from insurance: $1300." So yes, 1024.11 sounds perfectly fine. I have statefarm BTW. |

Initial quote is always low. Body shop will submit supplemental claims for more if necessary (and it often is).

In some cases there is additional submission for claims after tear down but that almost always involves a serious accident. In the OP's case, I am very sure he's not going to be getting any more for the accident. The other driving was backing up at right, 10 mph?
