reveal molding/windshield rubber seal loose
so i wrapped my roof in carbon the other day and had to lift the reveal molding on the top of the windshield in order to tuck it under well..now im kinda worried that it may not have sealed as well as before...my question is, do you know if the adhesive is what seals out the water from getting into the windshield? or is there more to it than that? should i have this piece replaced? it seems like theres gotta be something more sealing it than just the adhesive tape..anyone know?

The molding is for nothing more than looks. You could rip it entirely out, and it wouldn't matter. The windshield has its own seal, resistant to sun and the elements. That's what the dots on the windshield are for, to protect its seal from UV. Take a look at a brand new E92 in the showroom, the rubber is loose at the top corners. It's not intended to keep the elements out.

That molding has a lip on it that requires the windshield to be lifted to install. I bought the trim too but have not installed it due to that. I can attest to it not leaking. I've been driving without it for quite a while.
