Engine revving on its own

I just got to work and was parking my car. I left it in neutral and kept it on while I was finishing my coffee. For some reason, the car started revving on its own from 900 to about 2200 rpms. I shut it off, restarted it and it was back to normal.

Anyone else have this problem on their car? I've heard of this happening with 335s and it being related to the HPFP, but not in a 325 since I don't have an HPFP.

Maybe you accidently stepped your foot on a gas pedal while drinking coffee?

My last car did that.. I don't remember what caused it though. I just shut it off and It went back to normal as well.

I don't think that was it. As soon as I realized what the car was doing I made sure it wasn't me or the floor mat. It kept on doing it until I shut it off.
