N54 HPFP recall replacement = no performance?

i'm sure this topic has been beaten to death but i did a search and couldnt find anything. I finally got my HPFP replaced under recall with injectors and software upgrade last week. I have taken the car out twice since then, and the car has felt like it is pulling an anchor behind it. I kept checking my parking brake to see if it was on because the car felt so slow. did anyone else experience this? I had a JB3 (map 3) in for a few months before the install and i have not put it back in yet. is it because i'm used to the jb3? i always felt like the car with very aggressive even before i got the jb3 so i'm thinking its the software. any input?

Had mine done a few weeks ago and I don't notice any change in performance. Car is stock. I do have a new look to the map on the idrive though.

Maybe you forgot to put your JB3 back on so the dealer wouldn't see it?

See the link that says "HPFP failure FAQ! " above on the main page. Go to the last post. That is what happened to me after software update. Do you have a 2007?

no i have a 2008. the last time i had fuel pump replaced and software upgrade, the car felt amazing. so much more alive than before. but this time it feels terrible.

i have to go back to the dealer in 3 weeks for an oil change so i am going to wait to put JB3 back in. it only takes 45 minutes but i dont want to lose the time.

i just read your post in HPFP failure FAQ. do you have a boost gauge that is measuring lower boost below 3500 or does it just feel that way? I want to measure my boost because it feels very low with a ton of lag. I have a BT tool but i am not sure which parameter measures turbo boost under load. maybe they are reducing boost for cars they suspect to be chipped to reduce stress on turbos and HPFP?

does the car feel back to normal with the flash?

No Boost?

I posted the below on another thread, but after they replaced my HPFP, the technician noticed "no boost" and they ended up replacing a "vacumn tank".

Recall Work

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I brought my vehicle into the dealership for a CBS based brake fluid flush and was informed that they would also perform this recall. I had not yet received a letter from BMW, so I was suprised.

Not only did they perform this service, but during a test drive they noticed that my car had no boost. They replaced a vacum accumulator upon further analysis. They also replaced a microfilter and also both cup holders due to peeling.

Here are the parts that they used:

PKHPP - High pressure pump
13-53-7-582-770 - ASA-BOLT
13-51-7-616-446 - EXCHANGE HIGH PRESS
13-53-7-614-317 - SENSOR FOR LOW PRESS
11-65-2-247-620 - VACUM TANK
64-31-9-142-115 - MICRO FILTER

I have a 335i sedan with a build date of September 2007.

Dealership is Crevier BMW in Santa Ana and Sonny is my SA. My experience with Crevier has been exceptional and they have always exceeded my expectations.

i might be having the same problem. i'll try to measure with a BT tool if i can figure it out. the technician that worked on my car was sloppy and left several things disconnected when i picked up my car so its possible he didnt notice the lack of boost.
