Almost sold it...

A few weeks ago my disappointment with my car had hit a new high when my sunroof blew out in the middle of the highway and BMW refused to fix it under warranty. At the time, it seemed like it was the final nail in the coffin for me, after all of the other troubles I had had with it within a year of ownership. So while my car was still in the shop, I went over to Infiniti and looked at a G37S. I liked it, so I decided to go ahead with it. Next day, I was sitting at the salesman's table, filling out the paperwork. But when I had to put my John Hancock on the form, I paused for a minute, then looked at the salesman and said: "I'm sorry, I can't do it!"

I tell you, this car has put a f\/cking spell on me!

Good thing is, I am on my second BMW honeymoon now!

What do you mean your sunroof blew out? Do you mean it came off the car while driving?

Nope.. the e90 sunroofs explode randomly sending shards of glass all over the passenger cabin. Do search, there are at least half a dozen threads with pics.

I'm in your same boat. I hate the problems with this car but I can't seem to get rid of it. I owned to G35's and the G37 is the only other car I would buy.

It's like a woman constantly going back to her abusive boyfriend. Only you are a battered motorist. BMW = Battered Motorist's Wheel. Sad but true.

Good thing. I wouldn't have bought a Nissan anyways. They have their problems as well.

That sales guy must have been pissed. hahah ohh man.

But good choice OP, I would buy a CPO 335i before a New G37s anyday. Although the IPL's are pretty nice but it just has a badge. Pretty much the same as the G37s. No performance boost really.

Soo How much to fix the sunroof?

LOL but why a g37? That's a downgrade. I am sure you would've signed if it was something > than 335.

I had the same situation when I got my 335i back in 07 fall. G37S just came out on the market and I test drove a nice looking blue colored one with gray interior. I was about to buy it too, but then my dad stepped in and asked me if I was really serious about taking an Infiniti over a BMW...That pretty much summed it up right there and we went next door to the BMW dealership and placed an order for a 335i coupe.

You wouldn't have done bad either way. I felt a little weird at first going from BMW to Infiniti but I turned heads with it everywhere and it was a great car. Even the crowd seemed friendlier when I had the infiniti. Maybe they just don't wanna give respect to the BMW "asshole" driver lol
