What mods would you do?
Hey everyone. Did a search to see if a thread like the one I am making already exists, but didn't see it.
Anyway, I am curious What mods would you do and in what order? I am looking to keep it fairly simple. (IE: Bolt-ons, Minor cosmetics, etc.) I have had my 335i for nearly 2 years now and I haven't done anything to it. Now I am approaching 50k miles and decided it may be about that time. So far the wheels are ordered and afterward getting the tint done. 1. 19" wheels 2. Window Tint 3. Chip 4. Intake 5. Exhaust 6. Intercooler Not really sure if i will follow this order or not. Trying to read about product information and expectations. What would(did) you do and why? |

That's definitely a good start. Would recommend HID fog lights and Lux AEs (relatively cheap). When you do the software tune, get the intercooler at the same time. Intake is on the bottom of my list to do.

Is there a heating issue accompanied with a chip? most i read, seems that you are good with factory. Besides I wanted the intake mainly for cooler air and less resistance from the engine wanting more air. Not really worried about the power gains. Love the color, if you are into tint I think that would help show off the cars curves. Not a fan of tinted taillights either. Also, take a look at some of the front lips people are using.

I'll probably do 20% all around. Not really into limo tint. Ill probably replace the grilles with all black ones.. just not sure if they make strips that are black to remove the chrome. Not sure really just speculating. I dont really think i would mess with the tail lights. Maybe try and remove the yellow sidemarkers, but thats about it. |

You both have a point. I only had to page to the next page to find this:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=541233 Don't even have to search. It's not an exact match but gives a good idea. He could have been a bit nicer though. I support his comment on Miro's though, but if that's all op can afford, so be it.

I would also suggest maybe going throught the tuning forum and photos. Then seeing posters cars that you like and checking out their garages.

X2 on the Mtech components. Looks more aggressive. If you're planning performance, then look into: intake, tuner, and springs.

What year is your car? You may or may not have a factory oil cooler. I highly suggest you read/search around on the "N54 / N55 Turbo Engine and 335i - 335d Tuning / Drivetrain / Exhaust Modifications" section. These questions you ask have been answered hundreds if not thousands of times in the past. If you want to lower IATs, get a FMIC and Meth, your intake will not help much with this.
