New E92!

Hi everyone,

Bought my 2008 E92 about a month ago. Moved from a Mazda RX8 (I know there's a few of you on here from RX8Club!) to the 335i. So far loving it. I'll snap some better pictures with a real camera, but for now all I have are ones from my phone. (don't worry - I park in a garage at my building normally)

Bought it with 39,500ish miles, 6MT, ZSP, Premium Package, Navi.

Yeah I love it so far. It's nice to have torque AND fuel mileage comming from the rotary.

Downsized the pic because it was too big.

Another standard shifter amongst us. What do you think of the BMW transmission vs. your Mazda (assuming you had MT in the RX8)?

Congrats & welcome!

I did have the standard in the 8. Honestly, I liked the Mazda transmission better. I really don't like the clutch on the 335, and I miss the short throws of the RX8. Then again, I had to shift WAY more on the rotary so that's nice. But, adding a clutch stop has helped immensely on the BMW. I hear CDV delete is worthwhile too from reading the forums on here, but I don't have the tools/space to do it myself, and I'm not sure if I want to pay a random mechanic here in RVA to start digging in my BMW...thoughts?

I've also added 8500k bulbs to the Angel Eyes...

Where are you from in Philly? I grew up in Chadds Ford.

- do the CDV!

- I agree, the clutch is too light in this car. I go from my RX-7 with a 6 puck clutch to the BMW and I feel like im gonna break the pedal

Rotary love! Never owned an RX-8 but love the RX-7s !

93 RX7 has always been my absolute dream car ever since I was a little kid. I'm gonna get one once I can afford to have two cars.

I loved the smoothness and powerband of my Rotary, but it was a 2004, and I was starting to have issues. Wanted to trade it in on a car with a warranty again. Plus, it's really fun to put your pedal down, hear the WOOSH, and blast off. Can't do that in the RX8

Is CDV really that much of a difference? Went through the removal thread and some people didn't think much of it.

congrats! looks the same as my old one from the outside. Mine didn't have Nav though.

And, I also had a rx8 before, it was my 1st car out of college back in 2007...

I miss both.

RX8 was my first car too. I bought it myself, and that car taught me a heck of alot about doing your own repairs (mostly because it kept breaking, haha). But, I just don't have the space, time, or patience anymore (in that order...)

Did you CDV delete at all? Help?

And yeah I knew about the clutch from my Dad's Z4 (he has a 2009), but like you said, power and package were worth the clutch.
