Trunk storage solutions wanted.

Good morning —

I have a variety of auto supplies, sporting goods, etc that I keep in my trunk and use regularly. With my driving style, things tend to shuffle around alot. I want to find a storage solution to remedy this. Please post any picts of your well-organized trunks.

Thanks!

I'm familiar with that OEM net accessory —*was hoping for home-made or original solutions. Aren't there any anal people out there?

I bought a Thule trunk organizer at Target for $50. It has two compartments that can hold up to six, paper, grocery bags. It's weighted on the bottom so that it doesn't slide all over the trunk. You can collapse one side or both compartments when not needed. I bought it two years ago at Target. It might be a store-only item, or they might have switched to selling smaller items. Target.com shows smaller versions of what I have.

Trunk Organizer...

If you will check most of the on-line police supply web sites have trunk organizers that vary from large to small, soft sided or hard, and with various types of adjustable partitions, etc. I used one from Gall's in my e39 for years! It even had "Velcro" type feet that kept it from sliding around...

i hate fabric bag trunk organizers, mainly just the look......i wish there was something alittle more sturdy, i carry a ton of books and they slide everywhere...I also enjoyed in my e46 where the OEM changer is located there was a good store compartment there

BMW Accessories has a host of trunk storage products that may suit your needs. I have the the net, trunk mat(not shown) and trunk drawer. For me, the drawer is great for storing the smaller automotive related products while the net is great holding down larger items.

Go to BMW's accessories catalog PDF downloadable website link:
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...lications.html

Select the 3 series accessories catalog for 2010. Good luck.

I went to Target and got a clear, shoebox sized tupperware (or similar) with a latching lid, and then I bought self-adhesive velcro (a roll) from the hobby (sewing) store, and I put the coarse part of the velcro on the bottom of the tupperware. The velcro hooks grab right onto the trunk carpet so the box doesn't move at all. In fact, to vacuum, it is somewhat hard to remove, perhaps I could have used fewer pieces. It keeps everything very secure, and no rattles.

In this box I have:

1 Comprehensive First Aid Kit.
1 "C" Cell Mag-Lite
1 Illuminated, Hazard Triangle
12Volt air compressor
Tire Pressure Gage.
1 Emergency Poncho
2 Emergency Flares

50 Feet of 550lb paracord rope.
In the "spare tire well" I have 4 small water bottles, just in case.
