Road trip

I'm writing this from a hotel in Cody, WY. Took my car in and had the oil changed at 21,000 last Friday. Left Simi Valley, CA early Sunday morn, and ran all the way to Provo Utah on Sunday. Took 12 hours with breaks to go 675 miles.

Left Provo yesterday, and ran to Cody, about 550 miles. Filled up with some gas in the morning and got a limp mode outside Park City, UT. Shut her off and let her rest for a few minutes, started fine and continued. No other issues, but I reset the JB3 to Map 0. Car runs fine other than the one limp mode. Think the gas I put in may not have been the best. Was hoping I could find some 93 octane, but I guess every place out west only has 91.

Going to do Yellowstone Nat Park over the next few days, and then on to Glacier Nat park. Going to come back through Idaho then Oregon and down California.

Great trip. Since you are near there, I'd recommend driving the Beartooth Pass if you can arrange it.

Regarding gas, at least you are finding 91 octane. When I was returning from a west coast trip in 2008 in my 128i, the only gas available in certain areas of Nebraska was 87 octane or E10 89. Now it's probably all E10.

Enjoy!
