New to E90post, need some advice on 2 E90 335i's I'm looking at.
Hey everyone, this is my first time posting on these forums, I've been a lurker for a few months and no stranger when it comes to performance oriented cars. I come from driving an E46 M3, MKIV Supras, and a few other cars I've had the pleasure of owning for the past several years. I look forward to learning more about these vehicles.
Here's where I need some advice: I'm looking at two 2007 Alpine White E90 335i's to purchase and need some experienced advice on which one to pick. E90 #1: Has about 31,000 miles, fully loaded with navi, 1 owner, all maintenance kept up to date, female driven, Auto transmission. No warranty. Cost $23,000 E90 #2: Has about 55,000 miles, does NOT have navigation, 2 owner, all maintenance kept up to date, had high pressure fuel pump replaced once already, Manual transmission, DOES have an extended warranty up to 2013 or 100,000 miles which covers oil changes, maintenance, etc. Car cost $22,000 My question is, which one would you pick an why? |

IMO it comes down to peace of mind. Assuming that you don't care whether or not it's AT or MT, the warranty will be the kicker. I know people will say BMW or german cars are suppose to be reliable, sure, but at the same time if anything does go wrong, it's very expensive. So if it were up to me, I'd pick the 335 with the warranty.

Yeah, I like manuals better as most of my past vehicles have been 6-speed, its much nicer having that control over the car.
I like having a piece of mind especially since the warranty covers the mechanics of the vehicle as well as the maintenance. Any more advice? |

Well I was going to say the first one till I saw it was female driven lol
Seriously though I would take the first one it has less miles and it has idrive and only 1 owner. Good luck enjoy whichever car you get. |

Yeah I know what you mean, I do like that it was only a 1 owner car witless mileage, but the warranty with the other car is really making it hard to make a decision.

Option #1 is what I'll pick. Man I picked my CPO 330i for $23K 2 years ago... I need to upgrade to the 35i now. But then again, I still love my 30i. =)

Wow both are great deals! Im gonna have to say i would go with option 1 because of the low miles. Its hard to say to, cuz my 335xi is a manual and i love it. But i dont think i would pass up on option 1 with those miles for that price. DO IT!

Who was complaining? That's not my problem nor do I mind not having a navigation... I have my phone for that if needed.

the first one is a fantactic price. however, please do check for oil cooler, as early models 07 do not have it. if you do, then its a great deal. even with optional outside warranty, it will be very cheap. do throughly check the carfax though... see if there are issues with the car. second has a lot more miles, no option (sports pkg at least?) and manual... well thats a good thing.
I lean for the first one. |

I like the second one because I am definitely more fond of 6 speeds compared to automatics. I checked both Carfax and Autocheck for BOTH vehicles and they both come back clean. I will of course have an independent shop do a PPI to make sure no body work has been done, underlying issues. |

unless you plan on putting on more than 12-15K miles per year, get #2. warranty worth every penny. every penny. every penny.
brakes alone are a $1200 job. Does #1 have new brakes? they usually need replacing around 30K. those same brakes should be covered under maintenance plan (which you indicate #2 comes with). add to that the piece of mind that any issues are covered... are the tires on both cars in similar shape? If you get a good car, you'll know within a year as you wont have many problems, if any. if you get a bad one, you'll start paying through the nose a month from now if you dont have the warranty. the warranty gives you time to get comfortable with whether you keep the car out of warranty, and protects you from taking a a bath before you get there. also, i can tell by reading your posts you actually want an excuse to go with #2, as you want the MT. GO WITH #2! |

as previously stated, id check for an oil cooler. i just found that my 07 sp 335 doesnt have an oil cooler. killed all hopes and dreams of a dinan stage 2.
the extended warranty is HUGE tho because service on the car isnt cheap at all plus the car with the warranty is $1k cheaper. finally, even tho #2 has higher miles, it is still a relatively low mileage car for its age. HPFP warranty is something like 10 yrs/140k so it being changed before shouldnt be an issue |

I'd get the higher mileage w/ Warranty / 6MT.
You're either a manual guy or not. Regarding the navi, you could always take the money you are saving (1K + potential money in repair) and apply it towards a CIC (current gen Idrive). |

I would go for the 335 with the warranty.
Have you checked if you can still get a third party warranty through the dealer (for the 335 with less miles)?

Do they both ahve at least Sport package, what other options other than Nav. 2007 Nav is not a deal breaker, my roadmate works just fine when I need that. I'd go for number two simply because of the warranty. The 2007 auto most likely has no oil cooler do check on the other if you intend to track the car at all.

This is a no brainer for me. I would choose the 335 with warranty. I do not trust the reliability of that car.
