Who would pay $30 for an update, when a $150 new device comes with lifetime maps? I can tell you the latest map (I think 2012) is all wrong for Dallas, where I am this week. Pay for that?

hey I am cheaper then Garmin, they charge 50 for the same one time update.

Just FYI, there are no Garmin devices I know of that come with lifetime map updates...lifetime TRAFFIC updates, yes, but not maps.

True. However I bought a lifetime update when I was selecting an update option for my Garmin device a couple years after the original purchase. I recall it's good for the life of the device itself.

Any of the models ending with LMT are lifetime maps and traffic, so I guess you learn something everyday.

+1 And if he's undercutting Garmin by almost 1/2, it's pirated. Nice... So when you're on the stand for prison, at least you have some nice documentation to support your cause......

What?? I bought several Garmin devices from Costco with Lifetime map update...
